Shadespire: Bloodbound

The Bloodbound Warband for Shadespire. Not a lot to say here, I painted them in the same "style" as the five Khorne heroes from Gorechosen I did last year.

Shadespire: Stormcast

Finished the Stormcast warband for Shadespire. Used non-standard colors, typically they are painted gold and blue. If I ever paint all of the Stormcast I've picked up in various starter boxes & warhammer quest games, I wanted to make up my own Stormhost.

The Stormhost is tentatively "The Order of Sigmar's Temple". They are tasked with recovering Sigmar's holy sites across the Mortal Realms, guarding those holy sites, and protecting pilgrims that travel between those holy sites. They are made up of those heroes who fell defending holy sites throughout the realms during the Age of Chaos.

Out with 2017, in with 2018

My last real post was the previous new year's resolution post. It doesn't look like I'm doing much with this blog.

That's a bit disingenuous because I have stopped by here to update formulas and track totals of painted miniatures from time to time. Just not much posting anymore.

You can see the result of last year's resolutions in the 2017 Worksheet (found in the Pages sidebar) and my attempt to track this year's resolution in my 2018 Worksheet.  It feels like 2018 is just the stuff I didn't actually finish in 2017. Even though I painted 159 miniatures last year, the total number of miniatures I want to paint is pretty much constant between the 2 years ... how does that work?

Non-painting goals include playing more "miniature" games with my kids (finish Silver Tower and Shadows over Hammerhal and play more D&D), and update this blog with more pictures. With that in mind I've already installed the Blogger app on my phone.

On to 2018!

Out with 2016, in with 2017

I've been neglecting this blog. Occasionally I'll pop in and update the paint formulas, but very little "reporting" activity.

I just went back through my old posts looking for previous "end of year/new year resolution" posts, I really don't title my posts well. Another resolution for the new year! I found one from 2015 titled "Formula Update". Apparently 2016 was so busy/crappy I never bothered with one. Oh well.

What was done in 2016/2015
  • Finished Beastmen - army is complete. Well over 4,000 points in Age of Sigmar. I have this vague desire to paint up a Doombull and a Ghorgon, since those are the only two beastman miniatures (not including out of print ones) that I haven't painted.
  • Sylvaneth - rebased entire army for Age of Sigmar. I still have the Treeman left to do, but I'm still counting this as a "win". He should be done in the next week. I also added and painted up a Branchwych for the army.
  • Night Goblins/Moonclan Grots - army is complete. Over 200 of the little buggers.
  • Lucius - army was complete. Then I picked up a second "wave". That'll teach me to walk into a hobby store!
  • A Loremaster of Hoeth - painted for an online contest, as well as, a test bed for any future Eldritch Council color schemes.
Resolutions for 2017 (roughly in order that I plan to tackle them).
  • Terrain - I'd like to get all my unpainted/unassembled terrain assembled & painted. (2 Balewind Vortex, 2 Realmgates, 1 Hill, 1 Magewraith Thrown). I wouldn't mind adding a Sylvaneth Wildwood into this mix as well.
  • Paint all of my GW big box games I own. That'd be Dreadfleet, Space Hulk, Silver Tower, Gorechosen & Bloodbowl. I reckon this is the lion share of activity for the year.
  • High Elf - I'd like to rebase a subset of the High Elf army for Age of Sigmar and paint them up (just the Eldritch Council models (about 35 models worth)).
Extra Credit:
  • Paint the other half of the Lucius Crew (probably wait until March for when the Mounted Guard release).
  • Paint the Rasputina Crew
  • Double the size of the Sylvaneth Army by 32 Dryads, 1 Spirit of Durthu, 1 Treelord Ancient, 2 Branchwychs, 9 Kurnoth Hunters, 10 Tree Revenants. Heck ... if I do all that I'd need to add Alarielle the Everqueen for the complete set.
Eeek! It looks like a lot when I type it all out.

WHFB: Night Goblin Bowgobbo Champions

Two of the champions in the bow goblins posted a month ago always left me unsatisfied. They don't have bows. So these two replace the offending goblins, freeing them up for better things. One will become a Squig Herder, the other a Boss Goblin.

WHFB: Night Goblin Squig Hoppers

Cause the only thing better than herding a bunch of psychotic pit bull-like creatures into battle ... is riding one into battle.

WHFB: Night Goblin Squig Herd #2

Even more Squigs! How can you go wrong with 2 legs and a mouth full of teeth!
