Graveyard

A Spooky Graveyard!

When I printed the Warmaster Graveyard (see previous post), I also printed all of the elements at their normal 25mm scale (sometimes multiple times). I was always a bit disappointed that my Gardens of Morr WHFB/AoS set never had many gravestones (there are a few along some of the wall sections). Now I have a bunch to add to that kit to make even larger graveyards!

I had originally printed a single weeping statue, but after I finished printing the Warmaster city, the printer wasn't doing anything (and I had the filament), so I cranked out a few more. Mainly these could be used in scenarios that require multiple statues, some of the Frostgrave scenarios require a bunch. I recollect thinking "who has that many statues?!?!" ... now I do!
  • 8 Weeping Statues
  • 8 Single Gravestones
  • 15 Based/Double Gravestones

Blackstone Fortress: Terrain & Objective Markers

Might as well start off 2021 with a bang! After finishing Hammerhal, I picked up Blackstone Fortress to play with the kids. I poked around on Thingiverse looking for ways to spice it up and found some 3d print files for walls and objectives and gateways. My print bed was too small for some of them, but using a bit of ingenuity (cutting up and gluing together smaller shapes to make the bigger shapes), I have enough for a full table. There are 34 pieces here (14 "crystaline" walls, 6 stalagmite walls, 3 techno walls, 4 objectives, 3 cube like things, 4 gateways (1 with a removable door)).

Man O' War: More Merchant Vessels

I mentioned I had another 6 of the old Might Empire Ships without masts. Here they are ... with homemade masts! Once more, they will be used as merchant vessels to be captured. I probably have too many of these...

I was thinking a good scenario would be to give each player 3-6 vessels and require they escape off the opposite end of the seascape for victory points. You can get points by capturing opponents vessels and sailing them off the seascape as well. Sort of a dual escort mission.

These have the cool new water effect bases. I think I mentioned how I "messed" them up by not leveling the bases before I let the glue dry. I think it gives them a storm-tossed look.

Mimics

Run! Oh wait ... it's just a chest. No need to run this time.

Mimics from Nolzur's Marvelous Miniature line. I like these two, they were simple and fun to paint.

Iconoclast Axe

This is probably my favorite objective from the Shattered Dominion Objective pack. It's a giant marble head with a magic axe stuck in it. Did someone kill a Stone Gole? Did some Chaos Lord just leave his axe in a convenient location? It was fun to paint and I think it looks good.

Trove of Arcane Glory

A wizard's dream treasure. This is one of my favorite objectives. It was pretty easy to paint, and I think it looks fun. I'm not 100% sure why there's a globe, when AoS's setting literally indicates that each realm is flat. The writing was done with a black micron pen.

Ensorcelled Armoury

From the description on GW's website: "an impressive pile of shields, swords, hammers and axes." Yep, that's exactly what that is. Not sure what Chamber those Stormcast shields hail from, but that's how I painted them. It felt right at the time.
It looks good, and should be usable for a number of situations (both as objectives in AoS and D&D). I started from a brown basecoat, but it might have been a bit quicker to start by spray painting them with a leadbelcher base.

Treasure Chests

What could possibly be inside?
I painted the treasure chests from the Azyrite Townscape and Blasted Hallowheart separately from the wall pieces. They have more brown than gray, so they got a different basecoat. Also it made sense to paint them at the same time as the other "objective" based treasure chest pieces. I think I have 5 of these now. They're nice and easy/quick to paint.

The Realm’s Ransom

Wow, that's a lot of cash!
One of the objectives from the "Warhammer Age of Sigmar Shattered Dominion Objectives" set. This was pretty easy to paint and should look good on any tabletop.

Hallowed Tomb

This Age of Sigmar objective fits in well with the Mausoleum I recently painted. It's one of my favorite objectives. I painted it in the same "style" as the recent graveyard I did. I like him.

Soul Stone

An Age of Sigmar objective, this is a floating rock that has been chained down. There are faces/skulls coming out of the rock. The pictures make this look darker than it actually is.

Realmvault Key

One of the Age of Sigmar Shattered Dominion Objectives slipped into the endless spells I've been painting, the Realmvault Key. No idea what this thing is supposed to be or do. It's some sort of arcane thingy that you might find in some haunted ruins or a wizard's tower. The detail is a smidge better than the recent endless spells I've been painting, it's a nice miniature (if you can handle not knowing what the heck it actually does/is!)
