Various Stormcast Eternals

More Stormcast Eternals. Some of these were painted for a game called Crypthunters and the others were painted for Lost Relics. Both are games you can get from Barnes and Noble. I have another set of all of these (except the guy with the staff) from Underworlds warbands. I probably won't paint those. The guys with crossbows were fun to paint, but the others were less so. I now have a small box that's just filled with various Stormcast Eternals.

Silver Tower Fin

The kids and I finished Silver Tower last weekend! Here's a shot from the last battle scene. Notice how the Gaunt Summoner is hiding in the corner from my Knight Questor. Coward! These are the miniatures the kids and I painted together about 2 years ago.

There's two gryph hounds. We house-ruled that the boy could trade in a magic item for another gryph hound (he really likes gryph hounds).

In the end, the ultimate winner of the campaign was: A gryph hound! He took the final wound off the Gaunt Summoner. No one knows if he chose the boon or to end the Gaunt Summoner, but he's been getting a lot of belly rubs since!

Now we can start Shadows over Hammeral!

Gryphhounds

Here are the first 5 of the 7 Gryphounds the kids and I are painting. The blue one (back right) was painted by the boy, the middle one (looks like a bald eagle) I painted, the remaining three were painted by the girl.
The two in the back (red with white head, and blue with blue stripes) the kids are entering into the Under 16 Everchosen event. I think they have a shot at winning!
Yes, I'm counting these toward my month totals. :-)

Stormcast Knight Venator

This will be/is my Everchosen entry. I wanted something that looked impressive, and the Knight Venator is one of the most impressive Stormcasts that fit the requirements on the contest. He's from one of the Silver Tower box sets, although honestly, he'd be pretty cumbersome to use in Silver Tower/Shadows over Hammerhal.

I won't post this until after the contest has occurred.

I mostly just followed my standard formula for Stormcast's of the "Knights of Sigmar's Temples".
He looks good from a distance, but some of the fine details are a bit patchy. The wings were done using thinned down contrast paint [basilicus grey over admin grey, with dry brushes of pallid wych flesh and white scar white and guilliman blue in the recesses]. Maybe I shouldn't have done such deep shading on them. A pastel look might have come out better. I'm going back and forth on that. As always, edge lining wasn't perfect either (although I like to think I'm getting better at that). I think the bird came out well and makes for an interesting color contrast to the main model!

Here's hoping I do well.

Stormcast Knight-Heraldor

Another Stormcast! Soon I'll have all of the Stormcast command models painted, but not a single line trooper done. I think this is a Knight-Heraldor. The one on GW's page looks different (his sword is down and he's blowing his horn). He's from the Silver Tower: Arcane Heroes boxset. He's not Arcane hero though ... but GW had to put a Stormcast in that set, since everything had to have Stormcast at that time. His head is a bit smaller than all of the other Stormcast heads I've painted (or maybe his shoulder pads are bigger?). It's a bit weird. It's not a bad model, but it's also not my favorite.

AoS: Mistweaver Saih

The Mistweaver Saih from Warhammer Quest: Silvertower. This miniature was mostly painted by the girl, I did a bit of edge highlighting/cleaning up (and the base) to make her pop a bit more. She's the girl's character in Silver Tower and does quite well (the girl tends to gather the most experience points). Her ability to blast things from across the board is quite good, it helps that my Stormcast character tends to hold the enemies up.

This is also miniature number 100 for the year! Woot 3 digits! The Mistweaver also finishes off the Silvertower project. Given the holidays, I suspect I won't get much more time to paint this year.

Tzeentch Arcanist: Kairic Acolytes

The Kairic Acolytes from Shadows of Hammerhal. This is kinda an awesome kit, if you like mask wearing egyptianish cultists. It's got a lot of options and makes some pretty dynamic models.
In the fluff, these are wizards who have transformed themselves into warriors. So you end up with some odd anatomies (in particular, a surprising number of 8-pack abs), because being scrawny wizards, they don't really know what a real fit person actually looks like.
I painted them with 4 different skin tones. Most of them are pasty white (see the wizard comment above), but a few of them have more color.
For some reason the camera pictured them with a bit of a blue tint. hmmm...

Devoted of Sigmar: Excelsior Warpriest

I have to admit, I had no idea what this guy was actually called. I always thought of him as a "Sigmarite Priest", but it turns out he's an "Excelsior Warpriest".

He's painted for Warhammer Quest: Silvertower. The boy plays him in our campaign. At some point he might end up in a Free Peoples army.

I know I always say this, but he was alot of fun to paint. I painted him in about two sessions.

Stormcast: Lord Castellant

The Stormcast Lord Castellant from Shadows of Hammerhal. This might be the last Stormcast I paint for awhile. I have a few more Stormcast from the original Age of Sigmar starter set, but I they currently aren't on the paint schedule. It's painted in the Red & White of my own Chamber: The Order of Sigmar's Temple.
