Warhammer Underworlds: The Grymwatch

Don't worry ... the good guys are here!

These are The Grymwatch. In fluff, they are a bunch of deluded ghouls who think they are a noble band of knights (and close retainers) who are going to rid the land of a horrific monster. In reality, they are a bunch of cannibalistic ghouls.

I have some old Nosferatu (for a game called "The Great Rail Wars"), which I painted in black/white/shades of grey. I tried the same thing here. I think it makes them look a bit too spectral, and so if I paint more ghouls I'll probably go with a slightly different scheme. The flesh is Greyseer, followed by a mix of 1:1:1 of Contrast Medium:Contrast White:Contrast Grey, then a drybrush of Pallid Whych flesh and highlights of Scar White. I used Contrast Skeleton Horde to do the bones, and Contrast Black to do the hair. Everything else was just my standard recipes.

Warhammer Underworlds: Lady Harrow's Mournflight

Lady Harrow's Mournflight from Warhammer Underworlds: Dreadfane. If I had finished these 3 days earlier, I would have been able to say I'd completed all of the Underworld's warbands that had been released. Then Beastgrave came out ... and now I've got another 2 warbands to finish (3 as of next week).

I mostly followed GW's Battle Ready youtube video for Lady Harrow's Mournflight, but with additional highlights.

A brief painting guide: Robes/Cloaks were Ionrach Skin, washed with Thinned Nihilakh, highlighted with Ionrach Skin and White (edge). Dress was Ionrach, washed with Thinned Nihilakh, Thinned Nighhaunt Gloom, highlighted with Ionrach & White (edge). Flesh was Greyseer with White Highlight. Bodice was Snakebite Leather (Contrast). Weapons were Ironbreaker, washed with Agrellan and highlighted with Ironbreaker and Stormhost Silver. Stonework was Basiculm Grey (Contrast) with Agrax wash. Ground was Mournfang Brown with Agrax wash. Stumps & vines: mournfang, agrax wash, deathclaw, bieltan green wash. Roses: White with Druchi Violet wash.

Malign Sorcery: Lauchon the Soul Seeker

Another Malign Sorcery spell. This one actually is somewhat more "miniaturey" than the others. It has a dude on it! He (She?) is a shard of the god Lauchon the Soul Seeker. For the discount price of one soul, he will carry you across the battlefield in his stylish boat. I like how he came out, but I'm not loving some of the effects, namely the fire and the green mist didn't seem to come out quite like I wanted. Since he's getting entered into a painting event, I took the time to complete his base as well.

Shadespire: Sepulchral Guard

The Sepulchral Guard enters the fray. This is the third Shadespire warband I've painted. The Guard are the original inhabitants of the doomed city, now cursed to forever wander it's streets as members of the living dead.
